This site celebrates some of the places I love. I am on a quest to visit all 417 places in the National Park system, every National Park, Historic Site, Battlefield and Monument – as well as any other interesting places along the way.

I’m taking the slow route. I am not leaving the job, home, family and dog behind to travel around the country in an epic road trip. For now, my exploring happens on weekends, vacations and quick little side trips. I love a checklist, but I want to avoid the bagger mentality. I want to immerse myself in each, and that takes time.
