Every good adventure requires someone to share it with. The best ones to take on an adventure are good-natured, can put up with your moods, and generally up for just about everything. This week, we lost one of the best traveling companions we’ve ever known.

Ruby was a devoted pup, a sweet and gentle soul. She loved going on any adventure, except swimming, and would lean forward and lick the back of my neck as we drove to where ever it was I had decided to go. In her later years, she really liked nothing better than to go on an adventure with the whole family, unless it was coming home and curling up into a small corner of the house.

We will still have our adventures, but someone will be missing.
